  • Describe your personality?
  • What qualities do others suggest you have the most?
  • What are your top three values?
  • What needs do you look to have met in your work?
  • How long have you been looking for work?
  • Why do you want to leave your present job?
  • What has been your biggest accomplishment?
  • What achievements are you most proud of?
  • Of all of your projects, which one was the most rewarding for you?
  • What company did you enjoy working for the most and why?
  • What do you offer that is different from the average person?
  • How do you measure your success?
  • What is the most creative or innovative thing you ever did?
  • What mistakes have you made in your career and what have you learnt from them?
  • At what times in your career have you felt completely overwhelmed by challenges in the role?

Job interview performance, however, is not only about having well-prepared answers. There are a number of other dimensions that are equally important to a successful outcome. These other factors can include:

  • handling specific questions that can relate to leadership, teamwork, competencies and career aspirations
  • handling difficult interview questions that people get stuck on
  • handling anxiety and nerves before and during a job interview
  • understanding essential body language clues
  • undergoing psychometric assessments during recruitment and selection
  • negotiating salary and terms of employment

With sufficient job interview preparation, including practicing answering likely job interview questions, the job interview candidate will increase their chances of advancing to the next stage in the selection process.
