What's the difference between the Training Projects Template Pack and the Training Management Template Pack?

The Training Management Template Pack is designed to help with training administrator tasks, such as registering participants, gathering and analyzing participant feedback, recording attendance and compiling certificates of completion. On the other hand, the Training Projects Template Pack assists a project manager throughout the various phases of a training project. This includes compiling a project plan, conducting a training needs analysis, creating a high-level design and a training schedule.

Whilst there is some overlap between the two template packs, the Training Management Template Pack focuses on day to day training administration tasks whilst the Training Projects Template Pack helps with creating and rolling out a brand new training program.

Is this template pack compatible with Macintosh computers?

You should experience no problems reading our PDF files as long as you have the Acrobat (or similar) PDF reader installed. Our Microsoft Office for Windows doc and xls files can be read on Mac OS 8 or later with Mac Office 4.2 or later. Please note that we do not support our products on Mac systems.

How do I?
I am using MS Word 2007 and find I cannot unlock your forms for editing?

In the ribbon, select the Review tab and Protect Document. Click on Restrict Formatting and Editing and then click on the Stop Protection button. Make your changes to the form. When finished editing, click on Protect Document, Restrict Formatting and Editing again (if not in view) and place a check in the check box Allow only this type of editing in the document. In the drop down list, select Filling in forms. Finally, click on the button, Yes, Start Enforcing Protection.

Problems
I can't find the instructions for performing a mail merge of my training program participants using the Certificate of Completion.

To show the mail merge instructions, open CertificateMailMerge.doc. If you are prompted to import data from a database, select No.

From the main menu bar, select Tools > Options and then select the View tab. Check the box next to Hidden text. The instructions will be visible at the bottom of the Certificate of Completion form.

For Word 2007 users, click on the Office button. Click on Word Options, select Display and check the box next to Hidden text.

Licensing
How many licenses do we need when we have three internal training consultants/trainers designing and delivering programs?

If all three people will be using the templates and spreadsheets in their work, then your organization will need to purchase three licenses.

Do we need to purchase a license for our administrator who organizes schedules, sets up training rooms, prints certificates and so on?

You will need to purchase a license for each administrator that will be using forms and templates supplied in the pack.

I have purchased a single user license. On how many computers may I install the software?

A single user license permits you to install the software on as many standalone computers as you require, on the condition that the software is not used by people other than training program participants entering data into workbooks and forms. You may, for example, install the software additionally on your laptop computer and on your home computer.

Can I install the software on a computer network?

Modified and unmodified spreadsheet workbooks and document templates may be posted on a network on the condition that access to these files is restricted to valid license holders and training program participants entering data into workbooks and forms.

Who do you regard as training program participants eligible to use the workbooks and forms?

Training program participants are people attending specific training programs conducted by or for the licensed organization. Typically, they will complete one or more of the following forms: training and development plan, registration form, attendance form, feedback form. You do not need to purchase additional licenses for such participants.

How many licenses do we need when only our senior trainer will be modifying the forms, but they will be used by other trainers?

As the senior trainer will be modifying the forms, one license will be required for them. In addition, each trainer using the forms in designing and conducting their own training programs will also require a license. Training program participants completing the forms do not require additional licenses.

I have left my current organization. Can I take the template pack with me and install it on my new employer's computer?

No. Your new organization will need to purchase the requisite number of licenses.

I plan on managing training programs for five business units within my company. How many licenses do I need to buy?

If you are the only person managing or administering training programs, your company will require a single user license. If other people will also be modifying and administering the workbooks and forms, your company will need to purchase an additional license for each of these people.

I have purchased one license. How many copies of the forms and spreadsheets can I print or copy?

You may print, copy and use an unlimited number of forms and spreadsheets on the condition that the forms and spreadsheets are used for their intended purpose and the people using the forms and spreadsheets are training program participants receiving them from you.

How many copies of the Employee Performance Diagnostic Tool can we print or copy?

Each valid license holder may print one copy for the purpose of diagnosing employee performance gaps as part of the training projects in which they are directly involved. In addition, one copy may be printed for each manager serviced by a valid license holder on the condition that the tool is used for the purpose intended and not distributed in contravention of the terms of the license.

Can I use the template pack in a client organization until the organization has the capability to initiate and manage training projects independently?

If you are an external consultant and want to use the template pack to introduce and implement a training administration system in a client organization, your client organization will need to purchase the requisite number of licenses directly from Business Performance Pty Ltd. Unauthorized third parties, including unauthorized external consultants and contractors, are prohibited from selling, reselling, licensing, renting, leasing or lending the Training Management Template Pack. Third parties are free to, and actively encouraged to, distribute the free User Guide to help close a contract. Following this, the client organization will need to purchase the Training Management Template Pack directly from us.

The license expressly prohibits onselling by unauthorized third parties. Customers and client organizations are required to purchase the Training Management Template Pack directly from Business Performance Pty Ltd. You are free to distribute the free User Guide to whomever you wish. You are prohibited from receiving any kind of payment for such distribution.
