Top 10 Blogger of 2011My thanks go this month to for awarding me “Top 10 Blogger of 2011″. I regard it a privilege to be able to share my ideas and musings with fellow Human Resource practitioners. My blog is called People at Work and in it I share current research on all aspects of HR and discuss challenges and opportunities facing the employee-employer relationship today.

The success of my blog owes itself to the many readers who pitch in and share their personal stories and experiences. Please join us as we support each other in advancing our careers and our organizations. Come and check out my People at Work blog and tell me what you think.

HR Toolbox also supports a number of discussion groups. I am proud to be the Group Champion for the Learning and Development Metrics Group. In this group, we discuss all issues related to measuring the activity and effectiveness of learning and development in organizations.

Those who know me well are aware that this is a particular passion of mine. I have written four books (see our Publications web page) and many articles on employee training as I feel that improving employee capability is a powerful lever that we can pull in our efforts to improve organizational effectiveness.     A career adult educator and training manager, one of my pet interests was evaluation also … or more to the point, lack of it.

    I’ve seen so much good money wasted on unnecessary training I could write a book. Mostly people measured inputs to decide how good they were doing and no the more difficult to measure outcomes.

    There is still a lot of room for improvement Leslie.
